Update:

Just this week, we already witnessed both the Future Games Show alongside the separately arranged PC Gaming Show being pushed to the following Saturday in response to the ongoing protests taking place in major American cities. Now, Media Indie Exchange has disclosed that the group will be following suit with its approaching Guerrilla Collective as the online event has been ushered to next week as well.

“We recognize this is a time for action and for voices speaking out for justice and change to be heard. We stand united for change, for justice and in support of Black Lives Matters,” the organizers penned in the recently posted letterhead.

The Guerrilla Collective has now be rescheduled to take place next week on June 13 to June 15 later that Sunday. Previously, the group also disclosed over a dozen new additions to the lineup of partnered teams and publishers involved with the now postponed showcase. Here is the next wave of added companies:

  • Batterystaple Games
  • Beyond Fun Studio
  • Interabang Entertainment
  • Kitfox Games
  • MidBoss
  • New Blood Interactive
  • Nightdive Studios
  • Ninja Garage
  • Nito Souji
  • Sam Eng
  • Sega of America
  • Serenity Forge
  • Team Coreupt
  • The Molasses Flood

This summer already has shown to be packed to the brim with new gaming events hosted online in contrast to the cancellation of the initially scheduled E3 for this coming June as the ongoing pandemic has swayed organizer Electronic Software Association (ESA) to shelve this year’s show. Instead, media outlets and other groups have come together to incorporate their own showcases to replace the annual, in-person event.

One being IGN with the Summer of Gaming event that stretches throughout the course of June. The website this week disclosed its full scheduled sharing news regarding never before-seen gameplay, interviews, and new trailers for approaching titles as well. Mentioning some like Mafia: Definitive Edition, Yakuza 7: Like a Dragon, and Scarlet Nexus.

Howbeit, there are few showcases that truly encapsulates the indie game market during these shows. While there are some independently developed titles sprinkled through said showcases, they the main focus is big budget projects. Thankfully, Media Indie Exchange has orchestrated the Guerrilla Collective: an online, three-day showcase to share some of the coming indie titles from recognized independent game companies.

Here is the listed roster for the developers/publishers partnered for the event:

  • 11 Bit Studios
  • AnotherIndie
  • Coffee Stain
  • Fellow Traveller
  • Funcom
  • Good Shepherd
  • Headup Games
  • Humble Bundle
  • Larian Studios
  • Modern Wolf
  • New Blood
  • Paradox Interactive
  • Raw Fury
  • Rebellion
  • Those Awesome Guys
  • Thunderful
  • United Label
  • Versus Evil
  • Whitethorn Games
  • Wings
  • Ysbryd Games
  • ZA/UM

Alongside the featured teams that are listed on the event’s website, there are other scattered teams that will be present during the event as well. One being Liberated’s Atomic Wolf who shared on Twitter recently to be involved with the approaching show for later next month.

The event comes at a good time especially seeing some of the upsetting news for the community surrounding the indie game landscape. It was reported last month that due to shows not being hosted virtually until further notice, the Indie Megabooth announced its hiatus on operating until more is cleared up on the matter in the coming future.

Elsewhere, Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest has announced last week to be hosting its own ‘Day of the Dev’ events to showcase smaller, more known studios in June and July. You can read the full report by heading here.
