In the past week or so, word on the next Far Cry was imminent for reveal as the project was spoiled prematurely to its official announcement today. In that, the game was reported to feature Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Esposito as the featured antagonist for the game recently. But in a later uncovering on the Hong Kong PlayStation Store, the game was listed confirming Esposito’s involvement and shared the game’s release date for this February.

Now during the first Ubisoft Forward presentation, Ubisoft closed the show by announcing that Far Cry 6 is underway for release later this winter. Elaborating more on the new setting of Yara, the publisher presents a cinematic trailer of Anton Castillo – the totalitarian leader of the fictionally-inspired Cuba portrayed by Esposito himself.

You can watch the official reveal trailer in the video below:

“Jump into the action and chaos of guerrilla combat at the heart of a revolution,” the synopsis reads for Far Cry 6 in the trailer’s description “Employ an arsenal of unique and surprising new weapons, vehicles, and animal companions in a fight against an unyielding military regime. No guerrilla should go it alone, so pair up with an all-new animal companion like Chorizo, the adorable wiener dog who’s as cute as he is lethal.”

The initial reportings of Far Cry 6 prior to its public reveal also reiterates on the claims. Moreover, the rumor that the next Far Cry to return to its tropical roots was proven to be true thanks to its new island setting. Even more, Ubisoft enforces the leak from this past week by verifying that the game will be the largest to date in the series sprawling from the capital city of Esperanza to the rolling countryside and inclines.

Alongside the casting of Esposito for the new title, Ubisoft also discloses that Anthony Gonzalez of Disney/Pixar’s Coco will be taking a lead role of the heir to the his father’s throne in Far Cry 6.
