The lineage for Titanfall is long – almost the same length as the lifespan of its developer, Respawn Entertainment. In 2026, it will mark the 10-year anniversary for the last installment in the series: Titanfall 2. However, the firm has continued to pump the rich universe into its ongoing battle royale experience, Apex Legends. The latest Season 24 – Takeover has been a breath of fresh air with major meta changes for the core gameplay.

Exploring the possibilities of a new installment for Titanfall, there has been major fallouts on hope of that materializing. Prior to the launch of Apex Legends, the original experience was focused on being Titanfall 3. That was before battle royale reshaped multiplayer and the game studio refocused on the fresh experience. There was also Titanfall Legends which was shuttered internally at Respawn Entertainment in 2023.

The game was coined as a Apex Legends/Titanfall crossover experience. New development on the initial work for Titanfall 3 did unveil that work for the game was roughly a year; 10 months approximately. However, the most upsetting is that another incubator project for the connected series was on the way. That was until former employees shared the project was shelved indefinitely once again on another Titanfall project.

This past weekend, new claims online emerged on Titanfall 3 being in arms reach. Recognized Apex Legend leaker @Osvaldatore disclosed that there is a new extraction-centered title on the way. Bundled with a story campaign and fleshed out multiplayer, it sounded too good to be true. Jeff Grubb, who leaked the prior incubator project, did state the claims to be illegitimate.

Despite that, @Mr_Rebs_ has gone on to counter the comment from Grubb in a new exclusive video. The YouTuber previously released a wealth of new details on the initial post-launch plans for Halo Infinite. In the new video, he revealed the initial leak from @Osvaldatore is being ‘doubled-down’ by the leaker’s source; one who is familiar with the inner workings at Respawn Entertainment.

From the original leak, it lists: Unreal Engine 5, almost complete, singleplayer campaign, live service (with Battle Passes), main mode: Extraction, other modes: TDM, Control, Arenas, “all Titanfall 2 classic modes”, some returning Apex characters. and a weather system. The leaker also disclosed that Grubb was contacted prior to the leak going live, but never responded when contacted.

Amid the recent rumors, it is good to understand that they will remain as so until confirmed through proper channels. Something with more foundation is the new BitReactor project – Star Wars Tactics. The new title in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment has appeared online with the expected reveal to be at Star Wars Celebration this month. You can read the full report by heading here.

Are you hopeful the latest Titanfall claims happen to be true?
