Nintendo revealed one of its newest accessories for the Switch 2 last week, and that’s the Nintendo Switch 2 Camera. Shortly after the presentation, third-party companies revealed what they’ve been working on, including HORI.
German retailer Media Markt has listed a Nintendo Switch 2 Piranha Plant camera, suggesting it will release on June 5, 2025.
This will not be part of the official first-party accessories for the Nintendo Switch 2, as it will be released by HORI, a trusted peripheral manufacturer known for its other Switch products. Based on the retailer’s listed price, the Piranha Plant Switch 2 Camera is expected to be cheaper, around $30, as opposed to $50 for Nintendo’s official camera.

The new camera for the Switch 2 is part of a new GameChat feature for the console. The quality of this camera is yet to be known, but it does provide a better aesthetic for your bedroom or living room. The device will come with a USB-C cable that connects to the top of the Switch 2 console.
Players will be able to use the camera to talk to friends or even use it in certain games like Mario Party Jamboree.
