The surprise announcement of Mortal Kombat 11 three months ago have been quite an adventure as a tsunami of character reveals have followed the highly anticipated fighter since its debut at the 2018 Game Awards. With several waves of different fighters presented for the upcoming roster, and likely for it to continue to grow with about a month left before the game officially launches, it seemed best to list all that will be part of the game’s release later in April.

Branching to the approaching closed beta that both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users will be able to participate in this coming Wednesday, there are already five that will be playable for the 5-day playtest. Along with over another dozen that will be playable when the full version drops.

Closed beta characters:

  • Baraka
  • Jade
  • Kabal
  • Skarlet
  • Scorpion

Remaining announced characters:

  • Cassie Cage
  • Erron Black
  • D’Vorah
  • Geras
  • Jacqui Briggs
  • Jade
  • Johnny Cage
  • Kano
  • Kotal Kahn
  • Noob Saibot
  • Raiden
  • Shang Tsung
  • Sonya Blade
  • Sub-Zero
  • Shao Kahn

While the majority holds as unlockable characters that players can access when progressing through the game’s story campaign, there are a couple that are behind a pay wall. One being Shao Kahn which can only be obtained by pre-ordering the game. There is no word if he will be available for purchase following the game’s launch. And Shang Tsung who will be the first DLC character up for purchase.

Among the ones listed, there are characters who have been revealed for Mortal Kombat 11, but have yet to be confirmed to be playable: Kitana, Kung Lao, Kronika, and Liu Kang.

Mortal Kombat 11 is set to release on April 23, 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
