Amazon Prime’s God Of War Show To Reset Production As It Enlists New Showrunner

When it comes to Amazon Prime Video, the firm in recent time has become what is recognized as the pinnacle for video game television as of late. With the release of Fallout back in April with production on the way for Season 2 later this November, fans are eager to keep subscribed to the streaming platform. The same can also be said for this month with Like a Dragon: Yakuza also airing this week as well.

Not only that, but also a video game anthology series coming in December too. Blur Studio revealed Secret Level which features a collection of episodes featuring prominent games including God of War, Mega Man, and Armored Core. On the topic of God of War, Amazon Prime Video is also working on a live-action television series as well.

However, Deadline reports that progress on the show has hit a wall leading in the show to now start from scratch. What’s more, executive producers Rafe Judkins, Hawk Ostby, and Mark Fergus are all now out for God of War. The three penned multiple scripts for the PlayStation TV series with glowing response from Amazon & Sony. But, it is told that the studio is looking for a different direction for God of War.

In a separate report from Deadline, it is now understood that Ronald D. Moore (Outlander, Star Trek: The Next Generation) is now the leading showrunner for the effort on the God of War series. Moore is to come in on behalf of Sony Pictures TV Studios. Not only will he be credited as showrunner, but also as an executive producer & writer for the TV show too.

This is not the first time a PlayStation project has hopped between leadership during production. For more than a decade, the Uncharted film has faced the same fate until the film inevitably release in 2022.
