This past February, Respawn Entertainment celebrated the four-year anniversary since the release of Apex Legends. And while the game did come after the initial hype of the battle royale rage, the Titanfall spin-off did reinvent how the genre can be approached. And with Season 16 – Revelry, the new season did this even more in a full circle revamp for the core gameplay.

Additionally, the game also welcomed the long-requested mixtape game mode playlist featuring a healthy rotation of Team Deathmatch, Gun Run, and Control. Even content has been consistent for many regular players. The most recent Collection Event, Veiled, went live this week which features a new sniper Team Deathmatch variant, Caustic mythic skin, and new in-store items.

On Wednesday, Respawn Entertainment in preparation for the new season did so with a new launch trailer featuring the new Legend, Ballistic. Season 17 – Arsenal arrives on May 9th next month. You can watch the video below:

“From reclusive legend to gunslinging Legend, Ballistic’s here to prove you don’t need new tricks when the old ones work so well,” the webpage for Season 17 – Arsenal reads. The same page also discloses new plans for the core game including a rework for World’s Edge. “Time heals all wounds, but a little help can go a long way.”

One other highly-requested feature is also in the pipeline for Season 17 with ‘Weapon Mastery’ challenges. “Want to prove no one wields your favorite gun like you? Complete challenges and earn rewards that show you’re a Legend to be envied— and feared.” Even Ranked is being overhauled – again alongside an “evolved” firing range that is also promised.

Which part of Season 17 has you most excited for Apex Legends?

Apex Legends is currently available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS.
