apex legends switch 2

Respawn Entertainment supported the Nintendo Switch in its early days by bringing Apex Legends to the platform. On Friday, the studio announced that Season 29 for Apex Legends will be the last update for the game on Nintendo Switch. Future seasons will continue to be available on Nintendo Switch 2.

Starting on August 4, 2026 (Season 30), Apex Legends will no longer be playable on the Nintendo Switch. Until then, players can continue to play Apex Legends. On the same day, in-game premium currency will no longer be available for purchase on Nintendo Switch. Any existing balances can still be used before August 4th.

Players can use any existing balances from Switch to Switch 2. All player progress, purchases, and earnings will carry over from Switch to the Switch 2 version.

Respawn Entertainment makes it clear that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Apex Legends will not be impacted. That version came out in 2025 and has enhanced performance for the console.
