Asobo Studio Reveals Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Coming In 2026

French developer Asobo Studio has remained to keep itself busy the past few years. Just this past November, it launched the second installment for Xbox’s Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Additionally, the game studio also bundled its hallmark ‘A Plague’s Tale’ series into one package as well this past fall. It included both A Plague Tale: Innocence & A Plague Tale: Requiem.

Our review for A Plague Tale: Requiem scored it a 10/10. “A Plague Tale: Requiem is not just a game. It is a must play, flawless experience which teaches you how to better one’s own life with self-introspection through the eyes of a child. At the Xbox Showcase this Sunday, Asobo Studio unveiled the new entry in its ‘A Plague Tale’ universe with Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. You can watch the announcement trailer in the video below:

“Set 15 years before the events of Requiem, play as Sophia, a fierce young plunderer, on the run but determined to uncover the secrets of her past. […] Sophia’s journey leads to the Minotaur’s Island, where she faces deadly trials, navigates treacherous trails, and solves puzzles, all while fighting and staying one step ahead of the army chasing her. But the true challenge awaits, as the terrifying creature hidden behind the myth will soon reveal itself. As you journey deeper into the island’s heart, you’ll confront the truth behind a long-buried curse…” the synopsis reads.

Asobo Studio CCO David Dedeine adds: “We wanted to expand and explore the world of A Plague Tale with a character – Sophia – that is very close to our heart, but within a much more action-oriented experience. This fresh approach comes with intuitive and rewarding combats, as well as a brand-new manifestation of the Macula, the ancient evil. Resonance embraces themes, places and eras that we had never explored before.”
