It seems fans looking forward to the beta this month for the upcoming card game Artifact from Valve will have to wait until November to get their hands on the game.
The DOTA-based digital tabletop title was originally announced to have its beta set for October, but according to those who received access to the playtest will be waiting until next month to play. Fans who went to this year’s International DOTA 2 Tournament were given access to the beta along with those at PAX West this year received a code to the beta as well.
Those with access have received a notice on their account stating that the beta will be playable on November 19, more than two weeks after initially planned date for October. That only being a little bit more than a week before the game officially releases. Followed with a statement as of why the decision was made to push the beta: “We have a bit more work to do before letting everyone in”.
With the sudden decision to push the beta was surprising, it’s odd that the studio would decide not to publicly announce. And what’s more interesting is that with only nine days between the beta and the game’s release, the date hasn’t been pushed ahead for the developer to look over the beta.
Artifact will be available on November 28, 2018 for Steam.
