Following the delayed release for Fallout 76’s Wastelanders revamp expansion, the developers for the game sat down to do a Reddit AMA and shared some exciting new changes to be on its way. While the team did not directly expose its plans for later in 2020, the studio did explain that more much needed gameplay elements will be added and teased that the notorious Brotherhood of Steel could be enroute for its debut for the Appalachian Wasteland.
Now in a new blog post this week, Bethesda shared a new roadmap organizing upcoming content scheduled for the game leading into the winter of 2021. The first batch of three is expected to kick off this coming summer introducing a familiar tactic to online projects, seasons.
We’re excited to share an in-depth preview of our new Season system with you, which brings a new account-wide progression system to Fallout 76 that will overhaul our current Challenges and help you rake in lots of new rewards along the way. This is our own take on a “Season Pass” style system designed specifically for Fallout 76, and everyone will be able to join in the Summer fun immediately when our first Season arrives in Update 20.
Bethesda shares that the first season will be structured through a boardgame layout that users can find on the game’s main menu. Through completing specialized objectives and other activities will grow you rank, as expected. Introducing S.C.O.R.E. points, each time you level up will provide the player with in-game goodies when visiting the themed board. Players will also be given the option to pay 150 Atoms ($1.50) to rank up each level if they so desire.
Bethesda also laid out other additions expected to release throughout the course of the first season in the coming weeks. One being the return of the Fasnacht questline and Meat Week event that both took place last year. There will also be the introduction for better team matchmaking for players unable to form a party on their own, more high level perks, and a new legendary boss to face.

Moving onto the fall, the Brotherhood of Steel is shown to make their debut through the ‘Steel Dawn’ questline advertised. Daily Ops are also shown to make an introduction to to grant players more in-game loot, and a ‘Bomb Drop’ event slated for the closing of 2020. This fall will also bring a new season which has yet to properly be revealed seeing early we are still in the year.
As for the winter, the Brotherhood of Steel will be returning once again with a new storyline showing to be a more prominent feature for the faction. C.A.M.P. is said to receive instanced interiors which will break off from the main environment for players to have, customizable perk loadouts, and a ’Holiday Scorched’ event are shared to be included in the latter of the roadmap.
With each calendar season shared to receive its own content season, it is difficult to determine what will come for Season 2 and Season 3. Even more, Bethesda states Season 1 this summer will be free, but the same has yet to be said for the following content overhauls later on in 2020.
