This Fall’s Call of Duty title is going to be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and we say this with great confidence as a  known leaker in the COD space has shared it on Twitter.

Okami had posted a mocked-up box cover that was used from Black Ops 1 and put Cold War under the title which indicates the name of the next installment in the series.

The folks at Eurogamer have also backed up this leak.

It looks like Treyarch is taking the same approach as Infinity Ward when it came to Modern Warfare which after many sequels they gave a reboot. This would also mean Black Ops Cold War will be going back to its historical roots of the 1960’s.

There wasn’t much else revealed, but as expected the new Call of Duty name has been leaked just like all the others every year around this time of year.

What will be interesting to see is how Treyarch and Activision will approach its esport with the new Black Ops title such as will they go back to 4v4 like they always had before franchising or will they stay the same. Call of Duty esports has become a big part of the franchise over the years and we hope to see it succeed with another new COD title.

With E3 2020 being canceled it’s hard to say when we could expect the official reveal, but it’s clear it will be a digital event like everyone else is doing.
