
Although Street Fighter V remained championed for many across PlayStation 4 & PC, Xbox users were left out of the equation. But come the announcement of Street Fighter 6, the series is going full circle one again as the new entry will be a multi-platform release once more. Even more, Capcom prepared the announcement showcasing the upcoming gameplay overhaul and open-world aspect for the single-player portion of the game as well.
Additionally, the wait for Street Fighter 6 is not that far off. Capcom then prepped a June 2nd release date for the new fighter as we slowly inch closer to the summer release later this year. Continuing to embrace the competitive scene, Capcom also revealed that the new game as part of the Capcom Cup will feature a $2 million prize pool for competitors.
Now recently, Capcom held a Street Fighter 6 Showcase emphasizing on the game and what is to come after the approaching release for the game. Part of that includes the first batch of post-launch characters to be added. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“Four fighters join the Street Fighter 6 roster in our first year after launch! Rashid, who debuted in Street Fighter V, returns in Summer 2023. The enigmatic A.K.I. struts into the roster in Autumn 2023. Ed, also from Street Fighter V, strikes back in Winter 2024. Finally, the legend, the beast, the transcendent Akuma will rage into Street Fighter 6 in Spring 2024!” Capcom writes.
“All four of these characters are incorporated into World Tour where you can learn their Special Moves and increase your bond.” The publisher also shares a demo for the game is also live for PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 5 owners. As of April 26th, the same demo is also live for Xbox Series X|S & PC now as well.
