If you have been waiting forever to play The Witcher 3 in its best form on Xbox Series X|S or on PS5, you just gotta wait a little longer….again. The company responsible to bring CD Projekt Red’s game to current-gen was Saber Interactive, most known for helping studios port their games to Nintendo Switch and as well as helping 343 Industries in The Master Chief Collection back in 2014 and 2020 for the PC version.

CDPR sent a press release via Twitter announcing they would be taking over the remaining development for the current-gen console. Here’s what they had to say:

We have decided to have our in-house development team conduct the remaining work on the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We are currently evaluating the scope of work to be done and thus have to postpone Q2 release until further notice.

We’ll update you as soon as we can. Thank you for your understanding.

It’s a very sad news day for Witcher fans, hoping they would (re)play the “beefed” up version on their most recent console. We hope a new date is announced as soon as possible.
