It was on October 5th that many believed the wait has finally ceased. That CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 would finally launch after eight years of waiting followed by two separate delays for the title. The Polish game studio announced that Cyberpunk 2077 has gone gold which assures that the likeliness of a delay to follow the announcement is very slim. Howbeit, there is still room for a possibility.

That was until today where the developer has taken it to Twitter to disclose some unfortunate news, again. In that, CD Projekt Red shared Cyberpunk 2077 will be absent from its November 19 release set for next month. Instead, the title will now be arriving the following month in December – adding three additional weeks to the wait.

You can read the full statement in the tweet below:

“The biggest challenge for us right now is shipping the game on current-gen, next-gen, and PC at the same time, which requires us to prepare and test nine versions of it (Xbox One / X, compatibility on Xbox Series S / X, PlayStation 4 / Pro, compatibility on PlayStation 5, PC, Stadia)… while working from home,” The letterhead reads. “Since Cyberpunk 2077 evolved towards almost being a next-gen title somewhere along the way, we need to make sure everything works well and every version runs smoothly.

“We’re aware it might seem unrealistic when someone says that 21 days can make any difference in such a massive and complex game, but they really do.” It should also be noted that the announcement also brings attention to matters relevant to Cyberpunk 2077 by denouncing a separate claim made previously. It was suggested the title would perhaps ship on launch for Xbox Series X|S based on the promotion for the consoles on the official website, which we now know not to be the case for certain.

Elsewhere this past September, CD Projekt Red held its third Night City Wire showcase to elaborate on new details for everything Cyberpunk 2077. While doing that, the firm unveiled the specification requirements which disclosed a space requirement of 70 GB for the game. You can read the full report by heading here.

Are you fine waiting the extra few weeks for Cyberpunk 2077?

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to arrive on December 10, 2020 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Stadia.
