Earlier this week, CD Projekt Red CEO Adam KiciĆski according to a report from Polish news outlet Bankier shared that the developer has three teams on new projects related to the upcoming sci-fi, first-person shooter, Cyberpunk 2077. But now in a recent email that PC Gamer received from the developer, that is not the case for what CD Projekt Red has in motion currently.
The outlet explains in a separate report that the initial plans that was reported this past Monday was a mistranslation and the proper statement from the studioâs CEO was mixed around when ran through Google Translate for the sake of reporting the interview with Bankier.
Here is the response statement from a CD Projekt Red representative on the topic:
We currently have a total of five teams working on a number of projects, with three focusing on the development of Cyberpunk 2077. These include CD Projekt Red Warsaw and KrakĂłw, who are handling the main game, as well as the WrocĆaw studio, where around 40 industry specialists are engaged in technology R&D.
The statement continues on by sharing that another studio based in Warsaw under CD Projekt Red is currently at work on the Witcher-based digital tabletop title, Gwent. And revealing that Spokko, which if visiting the studioâs website, states to have be a part of the mobile title for CD Projekt Red since August of last year.
All in all, this does clear up on some of the questions that followed the previous report as to what the Cyberpunk developer has been working on leading up to and after their upcoming title drops this coming Spring. As for the previously reported multiplayer title for Cyberpunk 2077, fans will have to wait and see if that eventually comes to life directly from the developer as nothing has been shared verifying its existence.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be out on April 16, 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
