It is now no secret the Nintendo Switch 2 is planned to launch within the next year as Nintendo acknowledged the Switch Successor in the past. Rumors in the past have suggested the Switch 2 will be released in March 2025, but Nintendo hasn’t spoken on that yet. Developers are now being told that the Switch 2 will not launch this fiscal year.
Christopher Dring from GameIndustry.biz, has said on a recent podcast that a variety of developers said to not expect the Switch 2 this financial year. They have also been told by Nintendo to not expect it this financial year either. It is now likely the Switch Successor will launch beyond March and won’t follow the original Switch schedule.
The second one is that no developer I’ve spoken to expects it to launch in this financial year, in fact they’ve been told not to expect it in this financial year. A bunch of people I spoke to hope it’s out in April/May time, still early next year, not late

According to Takashi Mochizuki from Bloomberg, he said he has heard something similar. At the start of this year, it was said that the new Nintendo console could be released as early as March. The journalist also says fewer people are considering March as a possibility.
海外から任天堂の次世代機は今年度内には発売されない、という記事が。確かに、今年初めは「早ければ来年3月にも」でしたが、最近では3月を可能性に入れる人は少なくなっていましたしね。https://t.co/GLozrnABE3

The longer takes for the next Nintendo console to release, the better it is for the current Nintendo Switch sales to reach PlayStation 2.
