Devolver Digital Announces 2020 Press Conference, But Shares To Be Unsure When It Will Happen

While the basis that tails behind the commencement of E3 for this coming June will be absent for 2020, publishers are left unsure as to what will substitute their initially-planned press conferences in Los Angeles. But despite in-person events being squandered this time around, companies are searching for digital alternatives to replace the annual showcases scattered throughout the week.

Groups like PC Gamer shared to be hosting its yearly show through the confines of the online web unfazed as this year will be as impactful as if it were still being hosted to the public. The same can also be said for Ubisoft as the publisher shared to be featuring its planned bulk of news later in July with the self-named Forward presentation.

Expected projects like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are just some of the many to be showcased later in the year. Microsoft has also taken the initiative to partake in online showcases with Xbox 20/20: instead of one major event, announcements will be divided in monthly presentations that will be unveiled leading up to the release for the Xbox Series X. And now Devolver Digital tells to be hosting its press conference as well in 2020.

However, the dubbed ‘Devolver Direct’ was told to be unsure for its arrival due to the current situation at hand inflicted by COVID-19, but the publisher reassures that the showcase “should be a good one though.”

This virtual show is the next online event to be held alongside the previously announced Summer Game Fest, IGN Summer of Gaming, and GamesRadar Future Games Show slated for this summer. The Geoff Keighley-hosted digital event earlier today shared that Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 & 2 will officially be arriving later this fall season.
