Although now looks to be a calm time for the gaming industry as we continue to live in this current pandemic lifestyle, it was back in early spring that many were at loss for words that the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) would be shelved due to the novel coronavirus. During that, it was unsure what publishers had in mind for a substitute since there will be no live event to attend including the stringing press conferences that lead to the convention.
Firms like Bethesda shared early on that its presence for this year would be minimal as the fifth annual Bethesda E3 Showcase would not be taking place in June. Instead, it looks we got more details in scattered shows like the most recent PlayStation 5 showcase which featured Deathloop and GhostWire: Tokyo. It is presumed more Bethesda work could be shown at future events also.
Others like Devolver Digital disclosed to be organizing a show of its own elsewhere, even if the publisher was unsure when it will take place. Now, the company has remerged to reveal that the ‘Devolver Digital Direct’ will commence sometime this coming July.
In the tweet Devolver Digital adds that the scheduled mid July presentation will feature new updates for already released games alongside launch times for coming titles and unveil new games as well. Even more, the publisher emphasizes that the show for next month will include gameplay for each game that will be present.
Later in the thread, Devolver Digital also inquired that fans anticipating on the coming event should recap on the entire coverage by the publisher from 2019. “It’s a necessary 11 hour watch,” the company writes in the threaded tweet.
