Developer Dontnod Entertainment, the firm most noted for its episodic, reality bending Life is Strange and Victorian-set Vampyr is underway with another enticing and story-driven entry, Twin Mirror. With the studio shipping Tell Me Why: Chapter One in late August followed by the second and third segment shortly after, the team is closing 2020 with a bang offering another major entry for fans to anticipate.

The firm announced the title all the way back in June 2018 in collaboration with Shibuya Productions (Shenmue III) with the title scheduled to release sometime the following year in 2019. But about a year following the debut of Twin Mirror, the game was unfortunately met with a delay as the game was pushed to release in 2020 with more time required to properly finish the game.

Now in a new trailer uploaded today, Twin Mirror will be arriving the first week of December later this holiday season. You can watch the release date trailer in the video below:

“Sam Higgs was done with Basswood, West Virginia, but it seems it wasn’t done with him. When he’s coming back to Basswood, his childhood town, for his best friend’s funeral,” the synopsis in the trailer’s description shares. “It quickly becomes obvious that this little West Virginian city holds numerous dark secrets.

“The former investigative journalist will employ his deductive skills to uncover the mysteries surrounding the city and its inhabitants. Dealing with his past, Sam will be torn between his quest for truth and his desire to reconnect with relatives.” Given that the game will be releasing in what is presumed to be post-launch for the next-generation systems, the game is only scheduled to release on current hardware alongside PC.

Elsewhere in other Dontnod-related news, it was reported that the firm is underway with another new project. The details sprouted from a recent opening of a second studio in Montreal – sharing that an upcoming, unannounced title is underway. You can read the full report by heading here.

Are you planning on tackling Twin Mirror later this December?
