Dragami Games has partnered with Taiwan-based investment and development company, Nada Holdings, to develop multiple new Lollipop Chainsaw projects. These developments include multifaceted projects and cross-industry collaborations, the press release reveals.
“13 years ago, the work LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW, created with great passion and creativity by the development team at that time, has received a lot of support and patronage from fans for many years. We are deeply grateful for this and are truly moved. In order to further develop this work and meet the expectations of our fans, we have made the important decision to develop the IP of “LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW” as Dragami Games,” said Shohei Sato, President and CEO of Dragami Games.
“As a big fan of “LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW”, I am very honored and pleased to be involved in the IP development of this work. NADA HOLDINGS will continue to cherish the spirit of the original and work hard to meet the expectations of our fans. We intend to work together with Dragami Games to create various new projects together,” said Joe Teng, Nada Holdings Chairman.
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is a remaster of the original 2012 game, which was released in 2024. It has sold over 1.5 million copies, and Dragami Games said it will begin “new IP development for LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW and will work with NADA HOLDINGS to promote new diversified development and collaboration projects with other industries.”
Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam. In our review of the remaster by Dragami Games, we scored it a 7.5/10. It ultimately feels like little more than a way to re-experience the original on modern hardware.
