Although last year’s E3 was not able to hold much form, 2021’s show is going all out as a fully digital event starting next month. Already, the Electronic Software Association (ESA) confirmed publishers and big companies like Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Xbox, and Nintendo. In a later statement, the addition of Square Enix, Bandai Namco and Sega were to be present as well.
However, the Final Fantasy company prematurely confirmed its attendance. “We’ll make more announcements in the future, including at E3 in June,” Yosuke Matsude, Square Enix CEO stated then. But, the opposite can be said for Konami in the same manner. While initially slated to be presenting at the show in June, Konami later added that it will be missing E3 next month.
As for how the show will be structured, the ESA presses that there will be a online portal and mobile app primed for the show coming June 12.

The result is a bespoke online portal and app that will allow fans, media and industry professionals to have an E3 experience designed to run parallel to the four-day broadcast, laying the foundation for interactive E3 elements to continue beyond this year’s all-virtual show.

When the public show goes live in June, there will be several features for users to explore: exhibitor booths, lounges, forums, leaderboards, and profile creation. Additionally, the ESA also discloses that media will be granted five days of early access to features content in advanced to E3 officially opening starting the week prior.
