It is already well known that a remake of the iconic Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is coming. The reports started in 2023 when it was noticed that former employees at Virtuos Games leaked the project they were working on. This week reliable insider NateTheHate reported the announcement of the Oblivion Remake is coming in April.
Nate suggests The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake announcement and its release will be in April 2025. He also says the gap between the reveal and release will be small bringing the possibility of a shadow drop.
What Platforms Will The Oblivion Remake Release On?
Responding to comments Nate received from other users, he hasn’t heard of a Nintendo Switch 2 version for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The likely platforms it will release on are Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Since this IP is also owned by Microsoft there’s always a possibility of it being on Xbox Game Pass.
The original Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was released in 2006 for Xbox 360 and PC. Almost 20 years later more users will be able to play one of the fan favorite Elder Scrolls titles.
April 2025 is set to be a busy month for the gaming industry. Nintendo will be holding a major direct presentation for the Nintendo Switch 2, while Xbox is set to release Forza Horizon 5 on the PS5. Additionally, there are rumors that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will also be coming to the PS5.
