
When the Nintendo Switch 2 was revealed, one of the large third-party games showcased was Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade from Square Enix. Since then, the game has been playable at multiple fan events, including most recently, Gamescom 2025.
It was believed that the Final Fantasy VII Remake would run at 40 frames per second. However, Square Enix confirmed yesterday that the game runs at a stable 30 frames per second on the Nintendo Switch 2.
“Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade launches this winter on Nintendo Switch 2, running at a stable 30 frames per second, offering smooth performance and crisp visuals,” Square Enix shared on X (Twitter)
When Does Final Fantasy VII Remake Release On Switch 2?
Square Enix hasn’t provided a release date for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Switch 2. They still plan on releasing “this Winter,” which could mean early 2026 as well.
It’s also unknown if the game will have a true physical release or if it’ll be a game key card.
