For majority of the last console generation over on PlayStation 4, users grow excited to see where Square Enix continues the support for Final Fantasy XVI for the latest PlayStation 5. While still playable on the new system via backwards compatibility, dedicated support for PlayStation 5 has yet to be released. But, there is plans to fix that later on in 2021.
Just this past month, Square Enix launched the open beta for Final Fantasy XVI to test the waters for what will later become openly available on PlayStation 5. Unique to the PlayStation 5 playtest reveals that users can load up their save data from PlayStation 4 and continue the experience in the beta. But, there is still some time until the respected version launches.
The publisher also revealed plans for its next expansion, Endwalker. Scheduled for a fall 2021 release, the firm now presses that the add-on will officially be arriving in November later this year. You can watch the new cinematic trailer in the video below:
Square Enix also presses on a newly announced Collector’s Edition for Final Fantasy XVI: Endwalker. In the bundle, fans will receive: Endwalker Special Art Box, Expertly Crafted Paladin Figure, Art Collection & Frame Set, Azem Pin, and Loporrit Mini Plush. Noted, there is a Digital Collector’s Edition which offers an Arion Mount, Wind-up Porom Minion, Menphina Earring, Wind-up Palom Minion and Reaper Weapon.
While Final Fantasy XVI continues to be expanded upon for both PlayStation & PC, Square Enix elaborates on the vacancy for Xbox support. In that, scheduled content happened to overshadow the team’s efforts to migrate the game to Microsoft’s platform, says game director Naoki Yoshida. You can read the full report by heading here.
