The worst has happened. Final Fantasy XV is releasing towards the end of this year Director Hajime Tabata confirms on the video below. He explains the primary reason they were delaying was to “allow the development teams time to further polish and conduct quality testing so that the reality of the game can match the expectations of both the fans and the creative teams.” He also explains they have been working on day-one patch to ensure it’s on disc at launch since everyone is not connected to the Internet.
Tabata apologizes in a formal manner saying they are considering future patches and downloadable content. He also says they are releasing a 30-minute gameplay tomorrow and the “The Master Version” will be playable at Gamescom.
