Square Enix’s E3 press conference surely became more interesting when it was revealed that developer People Can Fly would showcase what exactly their next upcoming title Outriders is exactly. Although there was little to really be seen of the game itself, we did receive a full trailer to help depict the game’s world alongside understand the creative drive to develop a new and unique world that we will experience.

The game studio disclosed that there will be more information that will be spared on the anticipated title sometime in the coming winter season; which is this week. Earlier, People Can Fly uploaded a new reveal trailer adding context to the game’s story to introduce some of the game’s storytelling whilst giving direction of the gameplay even further. The biggest eye-opener, however, was that we later learned that Outriders has been pushed to holiday 2020 with the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 now listed for releasing platforms as well.

Bringing us to today, the Polish video game developer hosted a livestream to discuss Outriders and even share the first glimpse of gameplay for the forthcoming title. You can watch the gameplay provided in the video below:

Alike what was previously cited about the game, we are introduced to the three-party cast of characters as they begin their journey through the hostile planet of Enoch. Given from the chunk of gameplay that was presented, there is plenty to say about Outriders: one is that the game is visually pleasing. Especially seeing that the project will most likely release alongside the latest next generation hardware later in 2020, the amount of graphical impacts and moving objects is overwhelming, yet satisfying to see in a game like this.

Regarding the gameplay itself – the UI/HUD shares some similarities to other noteworthy titles of the same genre. Regardless of the lesser contrasting characteristics of Outriders, the gameplay already holds some ground seeing the movement and response of the chaotic experience to be well-maintained. Granted the build shown has been in development for at least a few years now, what was shown does leave a good first impression.

What are your thoughts on the gameplay for Outriders?

Outriders is slated to arrive holiday 2020 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC.
