Capcom over the past few years has found a new footing for itself with titles like Devil May Cry V, Monster Hunter World, and even the most recent Resident Evil 4 & Dragon’s Dogma 2. However, other beloved IPs remain dormant from the publisher’s gaze. However, the firm did survey its fans asking which franchises it would like to see be revived for its ongoing remake initiative.

Thus far, Resident Evil has faced this effort exclusively from Capcom. But moving forward, many are hoping other legacy properties get the same attention. One in particular – Dead Rising. While IPs like Onimusha & Dino Crisis are on the list, Dead Rising is still a healing wound. Back in 2018, Capcom decided to sever its western developer and closed the doors to Capcom Vancouver which subsequently also canceled all projects.

But in a surprising announcement this week, Capcom announces a new game is on the way. Revealing Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Frank West returns to Willamette Parkview Mall with a whole new coat of paint. You can watch the teaser trailer in the video below:

“Hello? Is this thing on? This is Frank! Frank West! Is anyone out there? Grab your camera and prepare for the big scoop on Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. Stay tuned for more info soon,” the description reads. More on the visuals, it appears the project could be handled more as a remake given it is likely built with Capcom’s in-house RE Engine. According to @Wario64 on X, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is expected to release this year.

On the topic of Capcom remakes, the recent string of reports forecast more Resident Evil. According to reputable leaker Dusk Golem, both Resident Evil 0 as well as Code Veronica are both planned to ship remakes in the future. You can read the full report by heading here.

Are you excited to see the return of Dead Rising?

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster has no confirmed platform or release date.
