While developer Hi-Rez Studios has forged its own ecosystem of IPs within its own self-contained universe, the firm has revealed that Smite 2 is on the way. And with projections expected to be high, ongoing projects are to be overshadowed by development for this sequel for the time being. Enough so that titles like Divine Knockout & Realm Royale are being sunset by Hi-Rez Studios.
Previously, the firm did host a closed alpha for the game for players to sample what this new follow-up has to offer. “Smite 2’s Alpha is a very strong and promising start to what should be an amazing MOBA experience. I look forward to playing all the playtest weekends and being apart of the growing and ever changing landscape Hi-Rez is pushing to give us. If you have not yet played Smite, I highly recommend picking it up, the game is completely free to play and available on Steam to download,” our impressions for the test reads.
On Tuesday, Hi-Rez Studios revealed that Smite 2 is officially available across all major platforms. You can watch the launch trailer in the video below:
“In conjunction with a significant patch to update the game, SMITE 2 is now available for all players to download for free on PS5, Xbox Series, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as on Steam Deck. Today’s patch adds 5 new Gods to the playable roster, including the latest God developed for SMITE 2 from the ground up, Aladdin,” the press release reads.
“It’s amazing to look back on how far SMITE 2 has come since the early prototypes a little over 2 years ago. We couldn’t have gotten here without the invaluable feedback from the SMITE fanbase throughout Alpha, and the game is now objectively better than its predecessor in so many different areas. We have ambitious content plans for 2025, which are bound to excite our players for the future of SMITE 2,” Titan Forge Games general manager Travis Brown says.
