While Frogger is and still remains to be one of the most memorable arcade cabinet titles in the past, the series is believed to be dormant in the last couple of year. But believe it or not, a new game released not too long ago. In that, Konami delivered Frogger in Toy Town back during the initial release of Apple Arcade in 2019. However, that is not the last we will hear of the IP in the coming months.

Earlier this year, it was discovered that Frogger is breaking away from video games and becoming a full-on, live-action television show. More precisely, it will be a game show in collaboration between Konami & NBCUniversal. From Deadline, the show will follow the foundation of the game to create a wipeout-like experience for contestants to run through.

In a new trailer over on Peacock, the game show is set to arrive this September with both Kyle Brandt and Damon Wayans Jr. hosts for the show. You can watch the trailer in the video below:

“A worldwide phenomenon since its introduction by Konami in 1981, Frogger has remained one of the most classic and beloved video game franchises of all time with a library spanning more than 30 titles across various platforms,” the show’s listing shares. “The show Frogger brings to life this popular franchise and supersizes it on an epic course! Audiences and contestants alike will be transported into a wild, whimsical Frogger world, filled with all the simple but challenging elements of the mega-hit from Konami.”

In a similar manner, other streaming services are acquiring rights to feature upcoming video game television projects. Most recently, it was disclosed that the previously exclusive production to Showtime – Halo – is now streaming over on Paramount+. You can read the full report by heading here.
