It has been roughly a year since Pokémon developer Game Freak announced its upcoming RPG title Town; and while on the wait for what the studio has been preparing to share next for the game, the official name of “Little Town Hero” was revealed through a trademark application made by Nintendo last month.
Now just a month later, Nintendo officially revealed the final name for Game Freak’s new title along with announcing that the game will be coming this October to Nintendo Switch.
Giving a proper synopsis of the game’s story, it is shared that the new RPG will follow the story of Axe who lives in an isolated village protected by the Castle. Under the overarching fortress, the mass is also the only way out which villagers cannot even attempt to penetrate in an effort to leave.
That was until a monster invaded the town and our protagonist shows to stand out from the other villagers with his will to fight against the beast and shows his interest to see the other side of the stone walls. With the help of a mysterious red stone he found in the town’s coalmines, he learns how to defeat the creature along with the perimeter outside of the village.
Unlike the traditional grindy battles that we have already experienced with the developer’s Pokémon RPGs, Little Town Hero instead focuses on the bigger picture with tactical battling. What that means exactly is that players will have to decide what precise ‘idea’ is best to choose from when countering an enemies move. Each opponent will be different and have contrasting reactions to your selected idea.
To make things more interesting, Nintendo shared that the majority of the game’s soundtrack was crafted by Undertale creator Toby Fox.
Little Town Hero will be available on October 16, 2019 for Nintendo Switch.
