When the Nintendo Switch 2 was released on June 5, there was one GameStop in particular that was the most talked about. It was located on Staten Island, NY, and they were criticized for using a stapler to staple receipts onto the Switch 2 box.
As the midnight launch concluded, customers opened their Switch 2 box to realize the staple had damaged the entire handheld screen. Eventually, GameStop made it right for the customers impacted by this.

As of publishing this article on Wednesday evening, the bids have gone up to over $69,000 with plenty of time remaining for this to hit the hundreds of thousands. You can view the actual listing on eBay here.
While at first this was deemed to be a negative impact on GameStop, this could now be a big collector’s item down the road for someone, and great memorabilia.
