Halo Studios announced in a blog post about the Halo World Championships that they will be sharing more details about their upcoming projects. In the post, they confirmed, “We will be sharing more about what we’ve been working on.” Last year, they announced Halo games would be using Unreal Engine 5 for the first time, teasing at what could be a Halo: Combat Evolved remake.
The news on the future of Halo will be shared on Friday, October 24, at the Halo World Championships in the “Early Afternoon”. They’ll be on the Main Stage to talk about the next Halo project, but on top of that, there will be a “deep dive” panel planned at the Community Stage that fans will not want to miss.
Could There Be More Than 1 Game Announced?
It was leaked in the Summer that Halo: Combat Evolved Remake will be campaign only. However, Halo Studios has a couple of other projects in the works, such as Project Ekur, which is expected to be a multiplayer-only Halo game, and then another mainline title in the series.
What’s also expected to happen is the announcement of Halo coming to the PlayStation 5 for the first time. This was a leak that started earlier this year, and it’d be no surprise with Gears of War: Reloaded and Forza Horizon 5 added earlier this year. It’s unclear if these next Halo projects would also release on Nintendo Switch 2 right away.
Some speculation that a multiplayer project might be revealed at this event because of how early they want to announce it. Is it possible they want to show off pro Halo players playing this new project? That remains to be seen.
