During Gamescom, Publisher Cult Games and developer White Owls Inc. announced that Hotel Barcelona will release on September 26 for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. The bloodsoaked sidescrolling roguelite is from SUDA51, also known for Lollipop Chainsaw, No More Heroes, and others.
The release date announcement was made during the Xbox at Gamescom live broadcast. A Switch version is now planned as of this time.
In Hotel Barcelona, you wake up in a twisted hotel taken over by serial killers as Justine, a federal marshal with a primeval monster possessing her brain. In this game, you’ll try to escape this luxury getaway turned psychedelic nightmare and defeat the hotel’s bloodthirsty new management – tough as nails brutes, psychopaths, and criminals from all over America. Suffice to say, you won’t be alive by checkout.
Hotel Barcelona’s music is done by the legendary Yuji “TECHNOuchi” Takenouchi (Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake), among other incredible artists.
