The previous offerings from Hyperkin has certainly been eccentric – especially for Xbox users. Among the major controller manufacturers, Hyperkin has capitalized on the legacy of the platform in recent times. In the past, we’ve seen this with its spin on the original Duke controller back in 2018. Additionally, Hyperkin Xenon controller went one step further fueling nostalgia for the Xbox 360 as well.

Other fundamental additions from Hyperkin incudes the Xbox Controller S Duchess which takes inspiration for the later generation controller of the original Xbox alongside the Duke. However, instead of continuing this trend, Hyperkin in a radical change of direction revealed the ‘Competitor’ controller. Instead, it dishes out extremely close similarities to the DualSense controller for PlayStation 5 – but, it’s for Xbox.

Now later this month, the Competitor is to release and it will cost interested buyers $49.99. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:

“Step into the arena with The Competitor, the latest pro-grade wired controller by Hyperkin built for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, & Windows PC. Designed with next-gen ergonomics and tournament-ready performance, this controller is built to dominate,” the listing reads. “Hall Effect Joysticks & Impulse Triggers – Experience drift-free accuracy and magnetic precision with ultra-durable components that outlast traditional analog sticks.”

It continues: “Symmetrical Thumbstick Layout – With its symmetrical stick design, The Competitor offers a comfortable, balanced layout that supports precision play, a favorite among many competitive players. It’s ideal for FPS’s, fighters, and fast-paced action. Segmented Traditional D-pad – Crafted with a single molded directional input, the translucent D-pad delivers ultra-responsive control and satisfying feedback for pinpoint accuracy.”
