IGN Summer Of Gaming Returns For 2021, IGN Expo Arrives Next Month

For those that might remember – especially since it was just a year ago – the current state of video game events were at a downfall mainly in part due to the ongoing rise of COVID-19 at the time. However, digital shows ended up being the great answer for those hungry for the same annual events without endangering anyone from further exposure to the ailment. One surprising announcement happened to be IGN’s Summer of Gaming at the time.

While many organizers of previous shows move to the all-online route, the video game outlet is following alongside to host its own virtual event. Alike other venues held, Summer of Gaming featured exclusive content and world premiers for highly-anticipated projects underway at the time. That included gameplay for Mafia: Definitive Edition and the announcement for Demon Turf as well.

For 2021, IGN Summer of Gaming is making a comeback and is officially kicking off this month, the website announced. Even more, IGN Expo is also returning for this year in June.

We’ll also be partnering with Geoff Keighley’s Kick Off Live!, bringing you more information about the biggest announcements from the June 10 world premiere showcase (which you can, of course, also watch with us here on IGN).

Additionally, IGN Summer of Gaming is also in collaboration with the Geoff Keighley-hosted Summer Game Fest. Unlike last year’s show that took place across the span of four months leading to Gamescom in August, 2021’s event will be a single show held prior to the start of E3 in mid June, the host announced.

Elsewhere previously, sibling companies GamesRadar & PC Gamer announced both Future Games Show and PC Gaming Show are returning respectively. The two are told to be held on June 13. You can read the full report by heading here.
