For fans of developer Sucker Punch Productions, you certainly entertained yourselves with Ghost of Tsushima over the past year. Even more, the franchise is already reaching new heights with a film adaptation in the works. So far, the production already picked up a writer for the script with Takashi Doscher (Still, Only) holding the pen.

But, how about other IPs from the developer? In the past, it was speculated the team would be working on a new Infamous title as the game studio renewed the domain for the official website. Certainly since the last game, Infamous: Second Sun, was showcased for the PlayStation 4 around its release indicated the series is due for a new installment. But, an announcement never came.

And those anticipating a reveal will be disappointed with the latest update from Sucker Punch Productions. In a blog post, the developer shares the team is not active with a new game for the series; nor is a third-party developer. The same was also categorized for Sly Cooper too.

As our games continue to grow in scale and complexity, they require the full attention of our studio. With our focus on our current project, we have no plans to revisit inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper right now, and no other studio is currently working on projects related to those franchises either. These characters are very special and near and dear to our hearts, so while we’d never say never to re-opening those doors down the road, for now there are no inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper games in development.

Additionally, Sucker Punch Productions pressed that it will relocate the servers for Infamous 2 to remain online for as long as possible. “we’ll be performing maintenance on inFAMOUS 2 UGC servers soon to move them to a new home that will keep them up and running a bit longer. We will eventually need to sunset these, but want to keep them running for as long as possible for players who are still active.”

What is a surprise from the game studio is more content coming to Infamous: Second Sun, kinda. In that, the add-on DLC ‘Cole’s Legacy’ which was originally exclusive to the Collector’s Edition of the game will soon be added to the PlayStation Store.

Are you upset with the announcement from Sucker Punch Productions?
