The current state of DC Comics appears to be in for a brighter future. Following the arrival of James Gunn’s Superman in July, fans are energetic on what else will be offered for the new DCU. And, this momentum on furthered with the recent reveal for Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Although not connected to Gunn’s franchise, it is an IP that has many excited nonetheless.

However, Warner Bros. Games remains to be in a questionable state after the recent changes internally: canceled Wonder Woman game; abandoned Flash project; Warner Bros. Montreal given an ultimatum on the verge of becoming a support studio. But, DC games appear to be shaping up internally according to the publisher. Warner Bros. previously stated Rocksteady Studios & NetherRealm Studios are piecing together more games for DC Comics.

Overall, there is a lot to anticipate moving forward across Warner Bros. concerning DC Comics attached to video games. Among that, James Gunn still pledges that DCU titles are being discussed. Even more, Gunn told GamesRadar+ that there is a good chance that Superman (David Corenswet) is to make an appearance in the medium too.

“There’s been some slight movement on different things,” Gunn said opening on the matter. We have a couple of little DC games coming out. But we also have talked about – and in early stages of planning – some bigger things. One thing in particular I’m excited about, but it does take time. There’s been some changes in Warner Bros. Games, and so we’re dealing with new people.”

Previously, Gunn did elaborate on this decision for DCU titles at Warner Bros. Games. While its associated teams will be involved, it will not overshadow other beloved franchises. In particular, despite the fallout of Rocksteady Studios’ latest live-service title the ‘Arkhamverse’ is safe from being left behind. You can read the full report by heading here.
