Well, it wasn’t for E3 specifically but just so happened to be revealed around this time. During the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World Tour event, Square Enix provided a new gameplay trailer showing off an additional world and story details for Kingdom Hearts III.
We already know that Tangled and Big Hero 6 are the first worlds revealed for Kingdom Hearts III, but now the Hercules world had made its way in. Today’s trailer shows all new special moves for Sora’s keyblade, James Woods returning as Hades and Susanne Blakeslee as Maleficent. The two, along with Pete, try to find a specific item while Sora needs to make a decision about his friend Roxas. It is revealed to him that in order to truly bring Roxas back, that he’ll need to call upon the darkness. Now, this could just be part of the story and Sora is just being manipulated, but we’ll have to wait and see. After all, this is just a teaser trailer.
A new world and trailer will be revealed next month on July 15th at the D23 Expo. Check out the trailer below, and Kingdom Hearts III will release on both Xbox One and PS4. No release date is available yet, but if I had to bet I would say that 2019 would be a fair bet based on Square Enix’ track record.
