As fans are certainly aware, Konami still remains halted on delivering new experiences for its most beloved IPs. After the fallout of Hideo Kojima who went on to form self-named Kojima Productions independently, the Japanese publisher has yet to deliver a striking project which most fans grew excited for when initially learning of Silent Hills more than half a decade ago now. But, there appears to be plans on the way.

In that, the Japanese firm previously registered trademarks for both Metal Gear Solid alongside Castlevania earlier this year. However, the intent for the decision leaves fans hoping a new project (s) is on the way. Additionally, Video Game Chronicles reported earlier in 2021 stating that a new Silent Hill project is underway. But, the game has yet to be revealed.

Instead, Konami did announce that it is forming a development partnership with Bloober Team to work on a new project. It is easy to presume it is Konami’s Silent Hill which the team derived inspiration from with previous releases such as The Medium. Again from Video Game Chronicles, the outlet from an anonymous source relays that the Metal Gear Solid project is a reworking.

More specifically, Video Game Chronicles explains that the new game is to be a remake of 2004’s Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Claims previously insisted that Bluepoint Games would be working on the remake. But, the team’s acquisition from Sony Interactive Entertainment says otherwise now. Instead, Video Game Chronicles tells the team to be Virtuous Games instead.

Additionally, the report goes on to tell that Konami upon outsourcing to the Singapore-based team is also issuing access to the Fox Engine as well for the alleged game. Even more, Eurogamer continues by corroborating the claim to be accurate on both Virtuous Games involvement alongside the game itself and the use for the proprietary engine.

What is your opinion on Konami planning to remake Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater?
