In the past revolution (of the Earth), Japanese developer PlatinumGames has continued to establish its roots into becoming a independent game studio as new project surface from its self-publishing initiative, Platinum4. However, the development team in a previous statement issued that announcements from the initiative were still underway. Co-founder Atsuhi Inaba disclosed an announcement is very soon to arrive.
The last spotlight shined on Platinum4 took place back on April Fool’s Day last year. In that, PlatinumGames announced Sol Cestra: a neo-classic arcade series in collaboration with Hamster Corporation. The gag went on with studio director Hideki Kamiya writing, “Thank you very much to all of you hamsters who helped us…” But that joke does not truly die there.
In a new trailer uploaded on Thursday just one year later, PlatinumGames announced that Sol Cestra is a real game and is planning to release later this June. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
“Sol Cestra, a new shooting game with the pedigree of the Moon Cesta and Terra Cresta, prepares to launch,” the overview reads for the game on the Platinum4 website. However, PlatinumGames does not provide any additional information on the project leading forward aside from the listed platform.
Elsewhere in terms of PlatinumGames, the developer previously acknowledged that its 2019 release Astral Chain is now an official Nintendo IP. The discovery goes on to suggest that the first entry is sufficient enough to produce a sequel with the platform holder. You can read the full report by heading here.
Do you plan to pick up Sol Cestra?
Sol Cestra arrives sometime in 2021 to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
