While the incriminating release of No Man’s Sky back in 2015 continues to be framed one of the most shameful launches in history, the game in the following year’s proven to be the comeback kid in terms of regaining the trust of its player base and continuing to grow its audience. Developer Hello Games found itself giving pointers to game studios responsible for Anthem & Fallout 76 in recent years as well.

As to what the developer offered to the table this year alone, Hello Games featured the new Companions Update which is pretty self-explanatory; adds creatures that players can befriend. Additionally, the game studio later welcomed the Expeditions Update as well which reorchestrated how players progress their experience in-game and included a new season system for unlocking new in-game items as well.

On Wednesday, Hello Games unveiled the new Prisms Update that of course features new in-game additions, but also greatly advances the graphical capabilities of the project as well. You can watch the trailer in the video below:

In total, players can now find improved lighting, reflections, refractions, torch lighting, parallax inclusion, richer caves, hyperdrive warp effects, dynamic starfields, detailed creature fur, light shafts, increased planetary details, better rain effects, realistic particle effects, and new touches to the photo mode. “No Man’s Sky now supports screen space reflection (SSR) technology for PC, next-generation consoles, and Xbox One X,” the team writes.

Elsewhere recently, Hello Games in collaboration with BioWare featured a crossover welcoming Mass Effect’s Normandy to No Man’s Sky. The arrangement was in part to celebrate the recent release of the Mass Effect Legendary Edition last month. You can read the full report by heading here.
