Less Than A Month Since Its Release, Rocket Arena Is Added To EA Access Vault

Just this past month, developer Final Strike Games shipped its inaugural title, Rocket Arena. The firm holding plenty of promise especially with former Halo developer Kevin Franklin helming the new project – it was suspected that the new title in partnership with publisher Electronic Arts would sail pretty smoothly upon release. However, despite the above average reception of the game, it looks its future is taking a more direct turn early on.

In that, it was not long until the game went from its full price of $29.99 to the very generous $9.99 price tag. The decision circulating around the title’s price drop was not provided at the time, but many users on the internet presumed it might be due to the lack of attention the game retained following its retail release last month.

And now just days before the official first month anniversary for Rocket Arena, the game is now available on EA Access’ Vault.

Typically, most titles that do arrive to the subscription’s library of properties shipped under Electronic Arts, it would not be so soon that recently-released projects be added to the roster. Typically, fans could expect both major entries and smaller projects from entities like the EA Originals initiative to be available on EA Access about half a year after the game launched or even more.

But with Rocket Arena, it draws the question as to what swayed Final Strike Games, but more so Electronic Arts to make the decision for the July-released title. Adding to the insinuated speculation from online users, perhaps the choice was made to continue populating the lobbies to the expansive player base for the subscription service. Rocket Arena does support cross-play, so that does speak some sense into the situation.

Elsewhere this week, Electronic Arts disclosed its efforts has yet to be ceased on more studio acquisitions. The firm shared that it aims to pursue the “classic example” that Respawn Entertainment was when the publisher purchased the studio. You can read the full report by heading here.
