For Microsoft, its pledge to further evolve the gaming industry with how its pioneered many welcomed features over the past years is to continue as time goes forward. On PC, the Xbox firm has illustrated this as HDR features – once recognized to be on Xbox – were now for Windows. Alongside a fully centered enhancement come Windows 11 previously, this continues the ambition carried by Microsoft.
In terms of what else Microsoft is pursuing, cloud gaming certainly is a focus. And while the infrastructure is still being handled for widespread use, Microsoft reaffirms it will not overshadow other platforms of the connected ecosystem. Recently, Microsoft has expressed more plans for PC in a recent showcase for the upcoming ASUS Republic of Gamers Ally handheld device.
Already, Microsoft has teamed with ASUS for the ROG Raikiri Pro which includes a OLED screen on the controller. Similarly, the firm is collaborating with the manufacturer to further platform Xbox Cloud Gaming. During part of the livestream, Xbox hardware head Roanne Soanes elaborates on potentially seeing fast resume feature branch over to PC. You can watch the segment in the video below:
“I’ll build on that a little bit because I will say for sure it’s been pushing up on the platform side of things,” Soanes continues off of a statement from product management director Shawn Yen. “You know, how do we thing about the idea of you start on your PC, and then you just want to take this with you, and you want to pick up where you left off, and you want to be immediately ready to go like console has some of those capabilities with quick resume today.
“How do we think about integrating this into Windows platform? How do we think about really working with developers and publishers, not just our own, but also more broadly the third party. And I feel like now we can drive more of that commitment to quick save to crossplay. And really having that be something that is truly delightful as you navigate across the breadth of devices.”
What are your thoughts on more Xbox features potentially coming to Windows?
