Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC on October 25, 2024. This will be the first time ever that a Call of Duty game will launch on Xbox and PC Game Pass on day one. Before this was made official, there was a lot of discussion internally at Microsoft about whether they should make this happen.
Since Call of Duty is now technically considered a Microsoft 1st party title, it would have to follow the tradition of releasing on Game Pass day one. However, that would be a gamble since Call of Duty is a hot seller and it’s possible Microsoft and Activision could lose money.
According to Tom Warren from The Verge, Microsoft is banking on Call of Duty on Game Pass to “shift the needle for its subscription numbers and help grow its gaming revenues”.

Black Ops 6 Beta Shatters Records
The Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta test shattered records of prior playtests for Call of Duty games. One of the likely factors was that Game Pass subscribers were able to access the beta during the first week rather than having to wait for the Open Beta.
