The ongoing Dead by Daylight franchise continues to draw in new content to the core game as well as its interconnected universe now. Back in July, a new update went live featuring the addition of Tomb Raider’s Lara Croft to the full game as a new survivor. Additionally, Behaviour Interactive rolled out What The Fog on Steam – a co-op spin-off set in the same series.
More recently Behaviour Interactive & Supermassive Games shipped the newest effort for Dead by Daylight with The Casting of Frank Stone. Rectify Gaming’s review for the game touted “The Casting of Frank Stone feels like a squandered opportunity in the end. Even though it combines the interactive horror formula of Supermassive with the lore of Dead by Daylight, the game fails to stand out.” It was issued a score of 6/10.
Alongside The Casting of Frank Stone, Behaviour Interactive also partnered with Midwinter Entertainment on a separate project tied to Dead by Daylight. Codenamed Project T, it would be a separate online experience within the universe. According to the publisher, Project T has been canceled.
“While a number of players expressed appreciation for what they played, unfortunately, the outcome of this deep analysis yielded unsatisfactory overall results. It’s with a heavy heart that we announce that Project T has been canceled. We want to thank you for your support throughout this journey,” the letterhead reads. But according to one employee from Midwinter Entertainment, there is more to the story.
Animation & art/creative lead Daniel Alexander via LinkedIn shares that Midwinter Entertainment has officially closed down. “Sadly, after nearly 7 years my time with Midwinter Entertainment has come to an abrupt end due to the studio closure. Midwinter has been an amazing place to work, with a group of amazingly talented, wonderful people, and appreciate my time here more than anything.”
