MINECRAFT 2 is officially titled ‘A MINECRAFT SEQUEL’

It has been confirmed at CinemaCon that the sequel to A Minecraft Movie will be officially titled ‘A Minecraft Sequel’. The movie is expected to hit theaters on July 23, 2027, and it will star Jack Black alongside Kirsten Dunst and Jason Momoa.

It was revealed that Kirsten Dunst was cast as Alex in the second Minecraft Movie. It also looks like there will be returning faces such as Jennifer Coolidge and Danielle Brooks. A Minecraft Movie earned over $960 Million worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing video game adaptations of all time. It was released in April 2025 and had trending moments such as “Chicken Jockey”.

Video game movies are coming in hot as of late. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is expected to break records again at the box office. The Legend of Zelda and Sonic 4 are coming to theaters just months before A Minecraft Sequel releases.
