Since the release of Rare’s online title Sea of Thieves, many have complained about the lack of content present and the studio took the feedback and went straight to bringing updates and fixes to their title.
During Xbox’s E3 Conference, it was revealed that two DLCs will be coming this Summer. And now revealed that there is three more updates to come this year on top of the two already announced Cursed Sails and forsaken Shores DLCs that will introduce more content to the game.
According to an interview by IGN, Rare Head Craig Duncan and Design Director Mike Chapman gives the outlet insight on how they are keeping the game active against other competing titles. Stated by Chapman:

“We’ve always talked about wanting to change perceptions of what multiplayer could be,” Chapman said. “One way you could look at it is we’ve done the really hard part. And now we’ve got this magical opportunity to make all the areas of the game richer. And beyond The Hungering Deep, Cursed Sails, and Forsaken Shores is coming, there’s going to be three more this year as well.”

Also discussed in the interview is how Rare achieves the finished product on their updates. Duncan says that there are teams organized to work on the updates while the rest works on maintaining the game for performance. Once the team is finished, they “leapfrog” to the next project and go straight to work.
For what the three unannounced content updates might be wasn’t discussed as of yet, plan to hear more in the upcoming weeks as the both DLCs are releasing.
