As reported earlier in July, developer Infinity Ward will be live streaming the full package of this year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare regarding the multiplayer portion of the coming first-person shooter. And today just that happened as fans were able to watch the bevy of 17 different streamers who will be testing the waters for the game’s online matchmaking.
And it wouldn’t be a multiplayer-related event without the discussion of an upcoming beta prior to the October-scheduled game’s release. Activision in a blog post has announced that players will have the opportunity to play the light reboot of the 2008 title’s multiplayer in an upcoming open beta.
However, there is a slight advantage to certain players as the publisher detailed that PlayStation 4 owners will get first dibs on the beta a week before the remaining PC and Xbox platforms do. On the second weekend of September, the beta will be exclusive to Sony’s current platform from September 12 – September 16. Adding on to the exclusivity, fans that have pre-ordered the game will have access to the beta on the 12th while those who have not will be granted entry on the 14th.
The weekend following, all platforms will have access to the beta, but with some exceptions as like the session prior: Early Access will kick off for pre-order participants on September 19th and the beta then will open for all platforms that coming Saturday, September 21.
If you are eager to get your hands on this year’s Call of Duty installment, head over to the game’s website here and make sure to pre-order and get your early access for the beta.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be launching on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 25, 2019.
