After years of attention online, developer Mundfish officially rolled out Atomic Heart. In our review, Rectify Gaming scored the title an 8/10. “Overall, Atomic Hearts is an enjoyable experience and introduces several new mechanics. […] Atomic Heart is an easy recommendation if you’re a fan of Wolfenstein, Bioshock, or immersive first-person shooters.”
In the post-launch, Atomic Heart was met with three DLCs well into 2025. Those add-ons being ‘Annihilation Instinct’, ‘Trapped in Limbo’, and ‘Enchantment Under the Sea‘. However, this structure for releases in its after launch roadmap usually ends here with plans ahead. Already at The Game Awards, Mundfish officially announced Atomic Heart II is in active development.
But, that is not all. Mundfish is further expanding its “Atomic” universe with an MMO shooter RPG, The Cube. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:
“Several years after the events of Atomic Heart, the world stands on the brink of a new threat. A mysterious giant levitating structure known as The Cube has become the epicenter of increasingly dangerous phenomena, and in order to save humanity, players must plunge deep into its secrets—and survive.”
The plot description for The Cube continues: “On the surface, it’s a geometrically perfect object, and in truth it’s an anomalous, shifting place swarming with vicious enemies. But most terrifying of all is the equation hidden at the Cube’s core. Deciphering the equation can save humanity; failing to do so means extinction.”
Mundfish CEO Robert Bagratuni in a statement said: “At Mundfish, we were the first in the industry to implement a technology that allows thousands of objects to move and rotate simultaneously across massive stretches of terrain — online and in real time. No other game has ever done this before. This became possible thanks to our innovative proprietary split-rendering system, which redefines how motion is handled in interactive environments.
“The technology delivers maximum performance even under extreme load. In The CUBE, physics, ballistics, and gravity feel completely natural — but under the hood, it’s powered by rocket science. The system enables seamless transitions, precise object tracking, and synchronized multiplayer in a living, ever-evolving world. It’s a true technological breakthrough.”
